New Year eve memories

The coming of New Year day always fills in my soul a kind of excitement and adventure to just move away from the normal monotonic area and visit some far away loving places close to natural beauty.

When I was a child New Year just meant a day off from school, greeting ‘Happy New Year’ to all the neighbors, relatives and a kind of planning day for good things I am going to bring in my life in the new year. A day after New Year generally begins with wishing of the same to classmates and teachers.

When I was in my 11th and 12th class the New Year just meant nothing since I was too busy in my preparation of IIT-JEE exams.

When I joined college the New Year eve used to fell always in the holiday period after Autumn Semesters of current year. So, most of the time I found myself locating to my hometown enjoying with bunch of my classmates who also used to come home during same period.

Then comes last week of my year 2005 and also my 2nd last semester when ‘Mood Indigo’ cultural festival of IIT-B gave me chance to visit the campus of IIT-B in Mumbai.

The fest got over two days before the New Year night and my friends and his hostel mates decided to visit a place called ‘Murud Beach’ near to Alibagh around 160 Km from Mumbai. So, there I was celebrating my first new year at a place near to sea and scenic beauty.

The waves in sea, early morning cool breezes, football match and a snacks basket full of ‘Namkeen and Bread’ and ‘Aloo Parathas’. The orange ball called sun rising in the sky deep down from the one end of sea was first of kind I saw in my life.

The real dream of that New Year celebration is still in my mind and soul.

College ended and here I am into the main stream of Indian IT industry in my first year of professional life. With this new world and new life also came the first New Year when I have earned and saved a considerable amount of money to spend on my passion to enjoy the ending of previous year and beginning of new era on earth but now the shortage of time or to be precise ‘Leaves’ bind me in its chain.

Well, to my good lack I managed to run away from this monotonic behavior in the last week of December for around four days and have a new year full of bang and bash.

I reached my hometown on three days before the start of New Year and as per plan so my long time best friend and classmate. The plan was made in hours and I along with my long time best friend and classmate decided to tour two places namely, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer near to desert area of my home state ‘Rajasthan’.

So, there I was in the sleeper bus in the night of the same day I reached my home thinking of a transition in my last year new year and the one which I was about to experience after a day or so. The transition from fun I had in the area which had just infinite amount of water drops to the area which had just amount of water drops sufficient enough for people living in those desert areas.

The early next morning we reached Jodhpur, got ready and went ahead as per our plan to visit the historical monuments. With in just 4.5 hours we managed to cover two forts, other two historical monuments and a desert park of Jodhpur.

The explanation of each of the places would need a brand new thought and time so I am just keeping my toes firm on the names and places.

The late afternoon we decided to move from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer by a road trip as we don’t miss out on the native area, the natural beauty of sand and thorns and also the touch of the local culture.

The same night we reached Jaisalmer and started the movement on my dream of once again celebrating the New Year eve.

I will not be explaining the details of each and every moment but just the glimpses of the memorable trip to the proximity of the ‘THAR DESERT’.

The main attractions of the trip were off course sand dunes, desert, and camel ride but there was also excitement with in all four in our group about the gorgeous foreign girls we encountered to have a look at in the desert and also in the camp during night.

The other attractions were camps in desert, cultural folk dance, traditional dinner and feeling of shear winter in the open area around our brick-mortar traditional hut.

The trip was one of the memorable moment of my life.

I returned to my hometown on first day of New Year and enjoyed whole day sleeping and in and around my home and meeting friends and some of the relatives. The same night I boarded the train to delhi and with the next day started the same professional life where I had left myself in old year. Although the place was same but the year and time and the New Year wishes around the cubicle atmosphere was cool one.

So, here ends my first piece of writing with a motivation of writing more on various topics ranging from my interest in stock market to my interest of thinking deep about some of other topics.

Past Some Days With TV Show ‘Prison Break’

Let me be true to all those who read this piece of writing from me. It took the great amount of time to just sit down and decide on the kind of topic I should engage my mind to write for. But here I am finally after a gap of around a month, putting my thoughts in string of words on such a topic which most of you may find quite weird to read and shell out some minutes from busy life schedule.

But people to be frank enough when I looked back from today to past 30 days I realized that the only passion inside me was to somehow update with whatever happened in the TV show ‘Prison Break’ till present date.

It all started with my college days precisely after 6th semester exams got over. Tons of applause to the LAN in our hostel rooms which not only allowed me to give birth inside myself for the passion of watching movies and TV shows but also helped me widening my social and friend circle.

In this piece of writing I would confine myself to narrate my experience about all these days of mine with two seasons (Twenty Two episodes per season) of ‘Prison Break’ in which I am just over watching up to the latest episode.

To begin with I want to share my personal view about the kind of TV shows that are aired on US sky. I personally found that not all but some of them are so well in there script, plot and characters that they really dig deep into the hearts of millions of people beyond the boundaries. I find myself lucky to have such a boon at this point of my life when I am in conflict with most of the issues of life.

The prison break is all about you just thinking at this point is to be like, yes breaking the prison. But stop don’t rush on to conclusion that it’s like Indian prison cells. It’s the Fox River prison where it’s simply impossible to imagine yourself in outside world until you complete your time. But as we all think at sometime in life that there is always something and so the person (Michael) who just come inside this prison by committing a false crime for his elder brother who was innocent in the murder of brother of vice president of America.

The season one shows about how extraordinary genius guy Michael comes in the Fox River prison with all pre planned preparations and a proper solid plan to escape with his brother. In the course of time from his start to the escape from prison he becomes friends with some of cell mates and helps them escaping from prison with him. In the due course of various events he was helped by his friend who was Doctor in same prison ‘Sierra’ and also the girl whom he was in love in the past. The episodes in this season truly speak of the geniuses in the kind of mind of director of this show. The way he moves on with the series of events happening inside prison with and different riddles solved one by one and the chains opening for the final victory of Michael, his brother and bunch of other guys is truly commendable.

The season one ends with a note of bravery and thumbs up for all these and a slap on the jail authorities and the people who planned to frame Michael’s brother in false murder case.

The season two moves on with Michael and his brother (LJ) running around to dig out the secret of false crime and also to get LJ`s son free from prison who was also falsely framed for killing of his mother and his boy friend. The other guys who escaped with him take up there own different roads. So, in short season two show casts stories of how all these people run from police, FBI etc. One important thing which was in the mind of all the people was to search a hidden treasure (Taken in lieu of plane hijacking by one of the person in cell who incidentally dies while escaping with all these) which was hidden beneath the ground at some place. There are so many different threads in this season and it would not be justifiable to explain all those here so your curiosity for watching this doesn’t get kills. The solution of one riddle turns into another riddle to be solved to become ready for another riddle.

The season two is still in continuation and recent one was episode twenty. Up till now as a result of various events Michael and LJ are in Panama and LJ`s son is living with an old friend of his grandfather who also dies in between some episode. Sierra was somehow caught while escaping with Michael and is in custody of FBI. The treasure was with one of the person who cheats with all others and ran away with the money.

I think whatever you have read is just like a drop of the ocean named ‘Prison Break’ and believe me if you have made up your mind to part some of the time watching this then its worth.

I am all ready for next episode which also happens to be the second-last for season two, because we must follow our passion and I admit that watching such TV shows and Hollywood movies has become my passion.

A shot on my liking of songs

The thought of writing on this topic came on the day when there were elections at local place (Noida) and it was official holiday in our office. However, with the mutual consent our team decided to work on this day which was Friday and take a break on the working day (Saturday) to enjoy having two day long weekend.

So, here I was sitting in office with handful of my team members doing usual project work. The silence of the facility sparkled thought in my mind to listen to all my favorite songs and exploiting the opportunity to max of dull day (in terms of work) I thought to put my thoughts about my songs world.

Coming from a normal middle class family I didn’t had luxuries to have all modern musical gadgets but I managed to get one Philips radio in 2nd class. The initial liking of songs was limited to the usual stuff played on different radio channels usually Hindi ones.

After some years we got our Philips Audio System and with this started the habit of listening to favorite songs again and again in as much loud voice as you can till either your folks say to shut it off and study or your neighbors want to have a sleep.

The next some years passed with bunch of cassette collection and some exchanged business of cassettes with friends.

The peak time when I fell in love with songs was during my graduation years where we had luxuries like 24x7 internet facility and friends with tons of knowledge about songs across border (western music especially English ones). The luxury of having personal computer after 3rd semester gave me chance to pick from the different type of music genres available on the Local area network (LAN) and save on my hard disk for soft listening. The hobby started with slow old Hindi songs of Kishore, Jagjit Singh etc. But with time the Hindi arena lost the ground and my love shifted to western music. The first one from those was also slow but slowly and slowly I got to know about the bands and songs. This all started the paradigm shift in the names of songs folder in my hard disk drive.

With time I got to know much more about different music bands, hit, songs, albums, artist etc. The first western music band which I started listening in big time was ‘Nirvana’. I found its songs quite different in the way of lyrics and music. The band had a blend of both soft and hard core rock songs and that I liked most. Suddenly my focus shifted to hard core rock, metal type western style music with handful of good soft ones also.

The choices of my songs have always varied from one extremity to the other. It started with old Hindi stuff like Jagjit Singh, Kishore etc. to western music bands like metallica, iron maiden.

Although I loved to keep all the songs of any particular album but the limitation of my hard disk space prompted me to keep only selective ones. I started the new hobby of collecting lyrics of various songs to just read the lyrics and sing them whenever they are played. In the meantime I attended many rock concerts held in fest of my own college and other near by colleges in Ahmedabad.

Graduation got over and with that the never ending hunt of new songs was eased down and I was left with somehow same collection to listen to during my pass time. But I had satisfaction in that whatever I had was either my favorite or one of the biggest ever hits of there time. In the life after I joined my first IT Company ‘InterraIT’, I was lucky in that I almost managed to get hold of most of favorite songs lying here and there in the company’s network.

When I started writing this article ‘Nirvana’ songs were playing in the background of area I was located in my office in my manager’s machine. I was in middle of this article when my team members left for the day and suddenly there was ultimate silence in the whole facility. I played no songs from time when I was in middle of writing this article till now when I m on the verge of ending it since I thought to concentrate on this and give the ‘Best Shot to my Songs World’.
